Lets Pawty: an easy party theme for anyone wanting to host a birthday party on the fly.
My daughter is a sophisticated soul, so naturally when she said she wanted a “dog party” she was offended if anyone recommended a Paw Patrol or Bluey theme. She needed something a bit more… classic.
My theory was that we could use a lot of the supplies to party in the future when we celebrate our beloved dog’s birthday. So we went for it.
Lets Pawty Balloon Garland

The weather on the day of our Lets Pawty puppy dog party ended up being absolutely horrendous. We set up a balloon garland outside, but ended up placing this one inside, too!
I used to be a balloon artist. I’d like to highly recommend that you order a balloon garland with a professional. Weeks in advance, if possible!
Want to DIY your balloon garland? Here’s a quick guide that I created! Not only is it complicated to make a balloon garland, but it’s sometimes tough to hang one as well.
I used a basic hot pink balloon garland and “electric blue” balloon garland. In typical fashion when ordering something online, the hue of blue wasn’t really the color I was going for… but we made it work. For accent balloons I added these bone balloons to the mix.
Total let’s pawty balloon garland cost: $34
Once you’ve made the balloon garland, check out my guide that shares how to hang decor on any surface! Hanging things can be trickier than you’d think, and it’s typically my least favorite part of balloon garlands.
Lets Pawty Birthday Cake
I just so happen to be completely blessed with a talented family member who’s an incredible baker. As a result, I can share a few details about our birthday cake and the supplies to achieve this gorgeous cake!

The cake topper came in a set, but you can find a similar one like this on amazon for a reasonable price.
I don’t know the exact recipe she used.. only that it was the most divine cake I’ve put in my mouth in a long time. I do have a few details my family member shared about the process, though!
She created those delicious white chocolate bones using bone molds like this. Once they were solid, she HAND PAINTED the pink accents. So casual. It was all sooooo tasty!
Additional design accents
I added a few fun accents that you can see in the above photos!
First: cupcake toppers. The dogs in sunglasses and party hats really made my girls smile.

I love a good all-in-one kit. This kit included plates, napkins, tablecloths, extra swirly dog face decor, a banner, and flatware.

We really enjoyed our Let’s Pawty birthday theme!
Have you thrown a party with a similar theme? I’d love to hear about it!
