    Mardi Gras Mambo Party

January 20, 2023 by Easiest Party Ever 1 Comment

If you're throwing a Mardi Gras party for adults, then it's important to add elements of classic Mardi Gras traditions to really bring this theme to life!

Before you throw your party, you'll probably want to put some thought into your invitations and how to invite guests. Make sure you have plenty of room for people to sit down and enjoy themselves. If you're inviting your family members or friends, try to get a head count before the event so you can see if you've got enough space.

Next, you'll want to decide whether you want to hold your party in a hall, outside, on the beach, in the park, or another location. It’s best to choose somewhere where there is space.

    Decor

For Mardi Gras, people dress up in colorful costumes, eat delicious food, and enjoy live music, dancing, parades, and more. Mardi Gras parties can be a lot of fun, and choosing the right decor can be exciting.

You should choose colors and decorations that fit the theme. Colors like purple, green, and gold are main colors of this theme. Decorations such as beads and lights can be a great addition to your party space. This way, everyone will feel like they had a great time celebrating Mardi Gras! We chose to incorporate a balloon garland with Mardi Gras inspired colors.

    Food & Drink

Mardi Gras is an annual celebration that takes place in New Orleans. The festival lasts from February until Fat Tuesday, when the last day of Lent begins. Mardi Gras is known as “Fat Tuesday” because it marks the beginning of the Christian season of fasting before Easter.

Here are a few examples of the type of food and drinks you can include while you’re celebrating Mardi Gras with your friends.

    • King Cake- This is a must-have at your Mardi Gras celebration! They can come in many flavors and variations, so it is important to choose one that everyone will enjoy!
    • Themed Beverages- These can be very delicious and modified to your liking! Drinks can be alcoholic or non-alcoholic, and can be a hit at your party if prepared well!
    • Jambalaya- A staple food item that everyone will enjoy! This food is very popular and can be altered using many different ingredients!

    What to Wear

Mardi Gras costumes can be very expensive. If you want to look your best while wearing a costume, then you should consider buying the right type of outfit.

Choosing outfits and accessories with colors like purple, green, and gold are great and easy to find around the Mardi Gras holiday. We chose this shirt and it incorporated the colors perfectly!

A lot of people like to wear masks at Mardi Gras. People who don't want to be recognized by others will put on a mask when they are attending Mardi Gras, but they can be great accessories for parties too!

    Entertainment

Some fun and inviting entertainment options for a Mardi Gras party include:

    • King Cake Walk- Like a cake walk, but a million times better! Everyone brings a King Cake of choice and numbers are placed in a bowl matching the numbers drawn on the ground. Music plays and everyone walks around the numbered circle. When the music stops, a number is drawn out of a bowl and whoever is standing on the number gets a King Cake of their choice!
    • Music- Music is always an essential when throwing a party. Music can be chosen to fit the theme, or it can just be coordinated to what everyone enjoys!
