We’re over the moon for you, baby! This party theme was planned for a gender reveal. It could also work for a baby shower or first birthday with a bit of tweaking. We had a few celestial details but for the most part this gender reveal was really simple to bring to life!
Over the moon for you party decor
The decor for this party was really simple and sweet! We used pinks and blues since it was a gender reveal. Add in a few fun moons & stars and well…. you’ve basically got the whole party down to a science! (Maybe even the astrological kind… ha!)
I never recommend building your own balloon garland if you can save yourself some time and effort by hiring a balloon designer. Having said that, if you insist on making your own balloon garland you can check out my post on how to DIY a balloon garland.
Since this is a gender reveal, we needed a gender reveal balloon garland to add over the moon extras to. Here’s something similar to what I used for this setup:
If I could do this party theme a bit differently, I think I would’ve ordered an over the moon for backdrop like this one. I think it’s really cute- especially for the price on Amazon!
A good way to re-use this backdrop would be to place it in the nursery for decor. A galactic nursery is an easy way to create a sweet yet relaxing environment to bring your little one home to with calming hues of blue.
Over the moon party food
I love to make simple party food that my guests will eat. I tend to stick with my favorite basic appetizers I know my people like.
When choosing a cake, I always go for flavor & quality over looks. From there, a custom cake topper keeps this baked party necessity perfectly in theme!
A special touch
One of my favorite things to do for baby showers and gender reveals is a small twist on a classic card for the person you’re celebrating. Instead of cards, have guests sign books that they’d like the little one to one day read.
This is an easy special touch that allows guests to really play with the party theme! Books like:
A lot of times, you can find children’s books for the same price as a hallmark card! Add your words of wisdom, hopes, or dreams in the front cover for a memory that the family will cherish forever!
